Financial education platform for schools

The story

Once upon a time, there was a goal of Česká spořitelna and ČS Foundation to provide quality financial education to all the Czech children.
Neuron collective and other experts were brought on board to help to create concept of digital education, provide content and build the brand of the new teachers platform.

Drafting concepts

In the beginning there was lots of concept sketching, countless collaborative workshops and meetings and ideation how to build sustainable and entertaining educational digital financial education for schools.

The ČS foundation had a framework for financial education, based on competences. The key challenge was to develop set of tools and principles, that we can give to teachers to help them with education.

How can we build a system that will fit all the different needs teachers have and how to create education for whole range from elementary to high school?

Dreamteam

Scope of this project required many financial education experts and third party partners on ČS foundation side, who had experience with educational projects and connection to network of schools and institutions. Important step was when they teamed up with Applifting (IT solution), HAZE agency (creative and content) and Neuron Collective (digital concept, analysis, visuals).

Key aspects of modern education

During analysis we have identified what students prefer on education and it increases their attention: playfulness, interactivity and digital approach.

At the same time, we have found out, that what teachers need related to the education materials is clarity and simplicity, expert guarantee and most importantly minimum time for preparation.

Skoala was born

The name Skoala is a lighter wordplay, inspired by the Scandinavian term skola (school).

Skoala represents a way to modern and playful learning and makes full use of digital tools for the 21st century.

We have created a recognizeable and bold complex visual style.

From MVP to production

Whole process started with design sprint and intensive MVP stage where we have built whole platform and filled it with content. It was thoroughly tested in schools and consulted with countless experts in the field. Process of content creation had many rounds of feedback so we can guarantee high quality standards.

In Februrary 2025, the whole project was fully launched.

Visual library

Skoala was equipped with vast illustration library of more than 1 000 illustrations, drawn by Daniel Špaček (Neuron Collective). Reusable illustration assets of numerous themes are supporting efficient creation of education materials, presentations and games.

Content tools

To support project content creation sustainability, we have developed for most of its interactive content several easily replicable tools. Using wide illustration library we can create new content in a fraction of a production time.
